The Process: Abstract Vision and the Three-Point Placement Method

My abstract painting process is an immersive experience designed to transcend the canvas. I often feel less like a creator and more like a witness; the work exists in a latent state, and the movement of my brush simply coaxes it into being.

The discipline of the Studio

While the act of creation is often exhilarating, it is also a vocation that demands grit. There are days when lethargy sets in and I must simply “go to work.” For the dedicated contemporary artist, art is a necessity—the sale is merely a byproduct of a life-sustaining action.

My career has been defined by socially challenging art and controversial themes, which naturally invites both acclaim and adversity. Navigating professional envy and gossip has been a formidable challenge, yet it led me toward a deeper meditative practice. This focus on the “bigger picture” informs my studio environment; I oscillate between silence and the creative fuel of classical music and rythmic sounds.

Technical Innovation: The Three-Point Placement Method

Years of experimentation led me to develop a unique abstract art technique known as the Three-Point Placement Method. While I now apply this intuitively, its structural logic remains the foundation of my work:

• Anchor Points: Every visual mark requires the location of two existing “anchor points”—which may be physical pigments or ethereal spaces.
• Soft Focus: Using a wide, soft focus across the picture plane, I identify the spontaneous appearance of these anchors.
• Intuitive Balance: The new mark is initiated at the sensed point of balance between the two anchors.

A painting is complete only when the canvas becomes “silent” and no further points appear. This rigorous approach ensures each original abstract painting possesses an inherent, structural harmony.
